Guide for last part of the production phase - Spring 2, 2012

Well done eagle-eyed Rhianna who spotted the deliberate mistake - we're not in on the 30th March - the deadline is as published around the department and on the central bog - 16th for your film, 23rd for paperwork.

Whilst you're editing...
TWO THINGS
1. Blogging - what you should be doing
There's now a checklist for the next stage on the blog (below) where you have moved from Research and Planning to Editing. For the editing stage of blogging (see page 2 of checklist), you need to post a few times a week (I suggest on the day after you have a lesson) and all you need to post are the details of your editing progress. SO, a few lines just outlining what you edited, any problems you encountered and any things you solved, parts you're proud of, things that went brilliantly - these need a quick mention. Over the editing weeks you should have a few posts per week, on editing, of a few lines or so on your GROUP blog. You can/should also put something on your individual blog as a PERSONAL response to what you've achieved/decided/problems etc but again - SHORT and FREQUENT is the key now...
2. EDITING
Don't worry about cropping audio at the moment - work on the visuals of the sequence. Later when we're happy with the visuals we can cut audio and add soundtracks so don't worry about audio at this stage please. If you do, we may need to edit/shift/cutaway etc to get visuals right for the best possible grade and if you've chopped the audio it's a problem to get it back on the timeline synchronised!

The full list for blog completion
Use this list now you have completed the first three weeks of the project. You should make sure you keep a track of what you're doing - it's PROOF for examination purpses, of your learning journey and of all the activities you undertook in the process of making your film. It should be like a diary and be sustained and frequently updated.
Don't worry if things seem a bit mixed up in terms of order or if you think you might have put a post on the wrong blog (i.e. mixed up inidividual and group blogs) as this can all be sorted later. It's MOST important that you get all these things on your blog as you go along and that you don't leave them to the last minute - not only will this leave you with loads of work to do but you will lose marks as you haven't completed the process as you should.
Finally, remember to LABEL your posts on the group blog with your name!

Those with no blog posts or no details on blogs/posts
Last week everyone was given a deadline. A week's extension has been given for catch up and has now ended. Appropriate actions will be taken. You have been told.
There are some fantastic blogs on our pages so have a look around for some inspiration...you could start by looking at Grace's blog in 12E, or Amy G, or Ellen F, or Rhianna P (all 12E) Ella B or Catherine H (both 12A)...

Also can you please let Miss know if you've had any problems inviting each other to share your group blogs.
If you DO NOT advise Miss by WEDS 25 JAN '12, it will be assumed that all is well and you will be judged and disciplined accordingly - there will be no room for excuses about not being able to access/link to the group blog. so DO IT NOW - get it SORTED NOW!

Guide to keeping your blog up to date
You were set the homework of putting up your research and analysis of Opening Sequences and this should have been done by now. The deadline was 4th January and you were given an extension. There is a lot of other paperwork to keep, scan and upload so here's a handy guide. Please note this is just the work for the first THREE WEEKS - there are more sheets to come so this needs to be completed as a matter of urgency. The THREE WEEK period ENDS on 20th January.
In case you were in any doubt, Media Studies is not an easy option as I'm sure you now know!
