Sherlock Holmes - 2009 Guy Ritchie

This week we're watching our first case study film. If you have missed any lessons, please make sure you watch the film over the holiday as in the next half term we'll be working on editing and narrative and using parts of Sherlock Holmes as examples.

We will also be gathering some information about the film such as who made it, who produced and distributed it as well as the director and box office figures.

You could also think about blogging your response to the film - what did you think of it? How did it fit with your idea of Sherlock Holmes? Do you think it is a successful update? Have they managed to successfully target a new market? Who do you think that market might be? What other films has Guy Ritchie directed? Is this similar?

This week's learning....Camera Movement

So now we've moved on from sound and have started camera movement...check out the 'Making Sense of Film' blog which explains (with some examples) what we've covered - clcik the 'Film Analysis" tab above to go straight to the blog...

Next Homework!

So, now you need to do the following!

1. MAKE SURE you have set up your blog and know the address - plus make sure you've given it to miss to link to this blog!
2. Try working through the design features and getting the colour and layout how you want it...

Those of you who weren't here when the homework below (on the sound extract) was set, you need to complete it so we can give you detailed feedback and a predicted grade.

Finally, a heads up that next week we will be showing you how to add widgets and gadgets to your blog and how to link and embed objects such as video, music, documents and pictures. FOR THIS REASON ALONE you need to make sure your blog is up and running ready for next week. You will be assessed on your blog for coursework so it can't be avoided!
